I would start with the Centro de Periodistas de Investigacion in Mexico City. It is a journalism organization that provides practical information and advice to reporters. The staff there will be more knowledgeable than me about how to pursue the story effectively and safely. The website is http://investigacion.org.mx/ and the contact is Pedro Enrique Armendares, Director Ejecutivo, nanuc@mac.com
